• The Museum Programs Producer is responsible for developing, delivering and evaluating innovative public programs and events at Lanyon Homestead, Mugga Mugga Cottage, Calthorpes House and CMAG (including the Nolan Collection) to ensure our programs enhances the engagement with and understanding of our exhibitions, collections and cultural places to diverse audiences.
  • This position supports the organisation’s strong interest in facilitating social history, visual arts and cultural landscape-based experiences. Programs will range from small, specialised workshops, guided and self-guided tours and online programs, through to large scale multi-day events.
  • This position will establish and maintain partnerships with heritage, arts and cultural tourism related organisations and broaden the range of life-long learning experiences attached to our exhibition programs, collections and cultural heritage places. The Public Programs Producer will ensure that museum experiences delivered (onsite, offsite and outreach) are appropriate for the intended audiences and support GMH’s Learning Policy and the CFC’s Strategic Plan.
  • The position is part of the Visitor Experiences team within the Galleries, Museums and Heritage Unit, which includes Education and Public Programs and Visitor Services. This role works collaboratively with the Exhibitions and Collections, Activation and Marketing teams. The Public Programs Producer reports to the Manager, Education and Public Programs and works alongside the Education Program Producer and a Booking Officer.
  • The role includes occasional weekend and after-hours works to support special events and programs.
The Cultural Facilities Corporation (CFC) is an ACT Government statutory authority established under the Cultural Facilities Corporation ACT (1997).
Its role is to manage, develop, present, coordinate and promote cultural activities in the ACT.
ACT Galleries Museums and Heritage (Cultural Facilities Corporation) is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated Public Programs Producer as part of the Visitor Engagement team.
The team is responsible for delivering innovative learning and public programs, and visitor and commercial services across Canberra Museum and Gallery (including the Nolan Collection), Lanyon Homestead, Calthorpes House and Mugga Mugga Cottage – some of Canberra’s most significant cultural sites and museums.
This role is responsible for planning and delivering innovative public programs and events to in-house, online and outreach audiences to increase access and understanding of our exhibitions, collections, cultural sites, people, stories and values. Programs will range from small, specialised workshops, guided and self-guided tours, and online programs; through to large scale multi-day events. You will have experience in developing innovative public programs to diverse audiences using creative methods to engage our audiences with our collections, exhibitions and heritage places.
