Mornington Peninsula Shire (the Shire) are searching for an energetic and visionary Gallery Director to provide strategic and dynamic leadership, and to elevate the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery (MPRG) into the future.

MPRG is the largest public gallery in the South East of Melbourne and the Shire’s major cultural facility. This position works within the Community Strengthening Directorate, in the Arts, Culture and Community business unit, as part of the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery (MPRG) team. The MPRG Gallery Director is accountable for high level exhibition and resource development and delivery, collection management, interpretation and stakeholder engagement, to ensure the continued high reputation of the Gallery as one of Australia’s leading regional galleries.
The ideal candidate will have a postgraduate tertiary qualification in Art History, Museum or Curatorial Studies, significant experience in senior management of a public art gallery, experience in the procurement of grants and sponsorship, managing resources and developing a team of arts professionals to deliver service excellence.
