• The City of Hobart (COH) and the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG) are seeking EOI’s for a Creative Director to lead the third Hobart Current program.
  • Hobart Current aims to nurture and showcase Tasmania’s most innovative creatives alongside their national and international peers. The unique exhibition model and integrated public program celebrates visual art, design, film, performance, and literature and is set to take place at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery and in Hobart’s public spaces from 17 November 2025 to Sunday 26 April 2026.
Hobart Current is a partnership between the City of Hobart and the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.
The Creative Director will be responsible for the selection of ten artists and the development of an exhibition theme. They will work closely with TMAG Principal Curator and COH Program Lead, Creative City throughout development and delivery of the project.
The Creative Director will be paid $35,000AUD which includes all travel, per diems and accommodation costs. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated experience curating cutting-edge contemporary projects such as large-scale exhibitions or arts festivals and who is open to creating experiences that appeal to a broad audience.
