The Arts and Creative Economy Team’s role is to enable our local artists and creative practitioners in their endeavours and to showcase the best creative talent in our region.
The role of the Arts Development Officer is to connect and support the local creative community and state-wide arts organisations to deliver the strategic objectives of the surf Coast Shire Council’s Creative Places Strategy 2023-2031.

Key Selection Criteria
Mandatory Qualifications and Experience

Tertiary qualification in Arts/Culture/Heritage management or community development and/or equivalent of 5-8 years experience in the sector
Demonstrated experience in Strategic delivery of Arts programs in a government setting
Demonstrated experience in Supporting community groups deliver successful arts and cultural activities
Experience engaging closely with creative communities, preferably in the Surf Coast
Staff management experience
Current Victorian driver’s licence
A current WWCC
You have the Right to live and work in Australia
Police Check results that are suitable for this position (will be arranged by Surf Coast Shire Council).
A complete international criminal history check is required if the person has worked or lived overseas for any period of time OR a complete national criminal history check is required if the person has only ever worked in Australia.
